The Gospel is not just a title we give to the first 4 books of the New Testament. It's a way of life for us at FSC. We strive to have a "Gospel-centered" approach to everything we do as a church and as believers of Jesus Christ.
The Gospel message reminds us that God's love for us is infinitely superior to any way I could love myself or someone else.
The Gospel allows us to see God's beauty and grace which draws us closer to Him. It also reminds us that He is infinitely worthy to be loved by us above anything or anyone else.
The Gospel is the message is simple:
-CREATED-
We were made by God, for God's glory. 😀
-SEPARATED-
Our sin separated us from a relationship with God. 😔
-CRUCIFIED-
So God sent His only Son, Jesus to be crucified for our sins. 😢
-SANCTIFIED-
God loves you the way you are.
But loves you too much to leave you the way you are.
And He wants you to live with Him forever. 😇
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
God the Father is the creator and ruler of the universe. He is the sustainer of all things. He is holy and righteous. The only way to have an authentic, eternal relationship with God is through Jesus Christ. (Gen. 1:1; Psalm 90:2, 145:21; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:16)
Jesus Christ is at the center of everything. We believe that Jesus is the only one who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
Christ was with God in the beginning. Yet Jesus came to earth through birth of the Virgin Mary. He took on flesh and dwelt among us. His physical death on the cross paid for our sins and His physical resurrection saves us and changed the course of history, creating the only path to eternal life with God. (Matthew 1:18-21; John 1:1-4, 3:16, 14:6; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Colossians 1:15-20)
Holy Spirit is equal with the God the Father and Jesus the Son. He makes us aware of our need to follow Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He is always around us and is with us to help every believer in Jesus. He gives guidance and leadership on a daily basis so we can obey God's Word and do what is right. He develops gifts in each of us for the purpose of serving the church and communities we live in. (John 16:8-9; Acts 2:38; Romans 8:26-27; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 5:16, 25; Ephesians 1:13-14, 3:16, 4:30, 5:18)
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives. It is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for all matters of faith. (Psalm 119:105, 160; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together. The church is empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue the task of making disciples that lead others to follow Jesus. Involvement in the local church is critical to individual growth, community, and encouragement in every-day-life challenges. (Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Ephesians 2:19, 4:1-16)
We believe that baptism is a public profession that an individual has decided to make Jesus their Lord and Savior. We also believe that baptism is a vital step in the discipleship process. While the act of baptism doesn’t save someone, it does indicate that they are confessing with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and that they believe in who He is and acknowledge that He has forgiven their sin. (Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9, Colossians 2:12-13)
